Lately there have been many phishing attempts to steal people’s information including pretending to be their Bank so they can take their money as well!

A recent exploit was found using older Remote Desktop Access software: ” ConnectWise – ScreenConnect ” to further take control of a User’s computer and run illicit code to  collect their private information.  There have even been successful attacks that pilfered funds out of victims accounts all while the attacker pretended to be a Bank Manager.

Always remember that if someone contacts you via e-mail or phone you should not use any ‘convenient’ links or phone numbers to contact them back, instead independently look up contact information for your institution that they may be pretending to be, from the official website or from other materials you may have in your possession and call them directly to verify the situation.

It could save you a lot of time and even your own money if you can successfully avoid being scammed!
